Helpful blogs when researching the Autoimmune Protocol.
As a person struggling with Psoriasis, an autoimmune disease, I am constantly on the lookout for anything that will help me manage my condition and bring relief, other than conventional medicines. This is where these sites have become so useful. I have been contemplating and researching the Autoimmune Protocol or AIP diet for a couple of weeks now. The voices behind these blogs are filled with wisdom and experience, which you will find to be very useful as you embark upon or are continuing the journey of wellness. One of the most appealing things about all of these women are that they give you the good and the bad, the positive and the negative, the REAL story about dealing with autoimmune disease. It is a bonus that, between all of them, are nutritional therapists, life coaches, and authors to several best-selling Paleo and AIP books as well.
If you followed my blog in February, you know that I have been using Dr. John Pagano’s book, “Healing Psoriasis”, The Natural Alternative. I thought that maybe I wasn’t healing because I needed to be more devoted to the diet. Then I finally said I am not so sure that was the case, although I know that I have been eating things that could, or are triggers for my psoriasis flare-ups and I need to do more. Or maybe I just need to exercise some more patience! A few years ago I ditched the dermatologists because the cost was not warranting the results that I was getting. Many of them will not even acknowledge the food impact. I knew that there was something that my body is sensitive to or even allergic to and I aim to find out using the Autoimmune protocol. I want, and need to get to the root of the problem. Knowing that food is medicine, the AIP diet should help me find answers, my last approach to self-healing before consulting a professional. Pray for me, Wish me luck, Cross your fingers!!
I will keep you posted as I continue on my journey to managing Psoriasis. As always, I welcome your input. Please comment with any tidbits of information you want to share about AIP protocol.
Relax a Spell!
