I wanted to make sure that I gave you one last article highlighting products and everyday habits that help or harm my psoriasis. So here goes!

I need to get plenty of:

-Sunlight! (vitamin D)

-Veggies!

-whole foods!

-water!

-skin hydration!

-good fats

I need to stay away from:

-refined sugars(or mostly anything white; sugar, flour, potatoes)

-gluten

-nightshades (potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, & tobacco

These are things I must have or must stay away from every single day and believe me I try really hard, especially when trying to feed everyone else in the household.  My best advice is to stick to preparing whole foods for your family, but even then there are those foods that you have to stay away from, trigger foods. refer back to any of my February posts to get a full list of products that help my psoriasis, what I try to use on a daily basis. As I have said numerous times, all bodies are not alike and what is working for me may not work for you and vice versa. But I have tried a lot of things.  For the past year and a half I have been trying to go with a natural and holistic way of healing. I’ve been having a battle with my scalp psoriasis. Nothing seems to be working!! It is so aggravating!! The problem is that I have bald patches, red and itchy, sore and very inflamed.  There are no scales or flakes, so I am starting to wonder if we’re moving into some kind of skin infection, such as some kind of fungus!!! OMG, that sounds so gross! Let’s be real, it happens and you cannot let it ride. Fungus can do some awful things to mess up your system. So I am beginning to explore some different possibilities dealing with fungal infections of the scalp. I am starting with plain old unrefined coconut oil and small amounts of antifungal creams.  If they start healing, then I know it is a fungus.  Then I am going to try the antifungal shampoos. It seems that shampoos do not work well in healing your scalp unless they are left on for an amount of time.  I feel like I am in constant detox mode, so maybe that is what is happening, I am not sure. Oh yeah, I am also taking 1tsp of coconut orally every morning and night. Maybe I am having the Hirxheimer reaction that happens with toxicity and bacteria die-off. PATIENCE is the name of the game.  I am trying not to stress over it but that is easier said than done!!

If you have any advice for me or any other reader, please leave a comment. I would greatly appreciate it!

As always, take time to relax a spell! You’re worth it!!
