Happy New Year!
Your first blog post is your most important one, right? So what do you write about? How do you decide with all those ideas floating around in that creative mind of yours. Well one way is to just sit down and start writing!! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but you have to start somewhere! Soo……..here we go!
My Very First
Before trying to come with an awesome topic for my very first article, I had to first determine why I wanted to blog. Well, there were two very important reasons, the first being that I want to stay home with my daughter. She is school-aged, but I have always felt that my priority was first and foremost to be at home with her. The second reason is that I wanted to help my family financially but could not seem to find a job that matches my families’ needs
Anyhoo, if I can blog and make an income while being at home for her, then this is a total win-win situation for our family! I am still seeking that position because that is my dream. But dreams can change, so let’s just see where this blogging gig will take me!
Ok, on to choosing my first topic…….well I haven’t really chosen a topic yet. Let me put this out there again; YOUR FIRST POST IS YOUR MOST IMPORTANT, right. Honestly, I have no clue but I imagine it should be!
Hmm, let me think………..
Okay, so I am one of those people who sits down to brainstorm and ain’t nothin’ happenin’. So then what do I do? I get up and go about my day and then ideas just start coming to me. Oh yeah and ever since I’ve had this blogging idea, I’ve been carrying around a notebook. Especially at night when I tell my mind to RELAX! This is a sure way to come up with numerous ideas, make sure to write them down cause they will be gone by morning! Or is that just me!! So most of my ideas have come during the night when I am trying to clear my mind and get some sleep. My mom always said reverse psychology worked on me. I guess this still applies! I’m telling you that a notebook on your bedside table is an absolute must.
For the past two weeks I have followed the advice of fellow bloggers who, by the way, have given me some awesome advice. (Thanks, guys) They advise to have several posts ready to go before you start blogging. Well, I lie, I only have the outline to several posts written out. I am also a person that can fill in between the lines, so the outline works great for me, after I come up with the main idea(which could be the toughest part).
New Year, New You
Isn’t that the way it is supposed to read? Well I don’t know about all that, but the new year is a time for us to start over, right. How many of you make New Year resolutions, I don’t, well not really. Of course I always have things I would like to work on changing for the better, and that’s what resolutions are all about! So, I guess I sorta do make New Year resolutions.
“New Year, New You” does not really set well with me. Why? Because God don’t make no junk!! I will add, that while I do not want a new me, we all can improve on something right!
I am in need of some improvements right now…………
The second bullet of my outline reads….Better eating, sleeping, and cleaning schedule. I know, it is way broad. But let me explain! This whole holiday has been so RELAXING that I have really gotten off my game. First off, I found many, many yummy recipes on Pinterest that I just had to try!! Let me just say that baking and cooking are very RELAXING to me, but then again I REALLY love to eat!!! And wait for it……because I know that no one else has this problem……I am not so good in the moderation department! I know, you did not expect me to say that, right! Here we go with the domino affect!!!!!! Next to suffer was my sleep. While my daughter has been on Christmas vacation (I don’t want to be politically correct and call it Winter Break) we have been staying up way too late. This we are trying to correct this week because she returns to school on Thursday. I know, Thursday, that’s crazy right! But the “weekend will be here before we know it”, right. Of course when you lack sleep, you lack motivation. So cleaning is not really on the forefront of the to-do list, actually the to-do list is pretty nonexistent!! But I am trying to remedy that this week. Do you think it will happen? All I can do is to once again set personal boundaries and try my best to stay within them!!
Hey would ya look at that, I actually had a topic all along!!! Miracles do happen!!
New Year, Same Me(with some improvements)
This month I vow to:
- eat sensibly
- be in bed by 9:00
- adhere to a cleaning schedule (not neglect my dinner dishes)
So my friend, what improvements will you be working on this new year? Whatever you do, take time to RELAX a spell!
Talk to you soon!
